The Celebratory Society

Please forgive my slacker blogging. I caught the baby's cold, and now my allergies are bothering me on top of the cold. Add in sleep deprivation and working full time, and it's hard to put my thoughts together for a coherent post. It's even hard to keep up with all my blog reading, but I try, and I try to leave comments when I can. So I thought Mel's latest project would be a good incentive for me to write more than quick, one sentence comments and a way for me to soak up some of the love from the most loving gang on the net.

Think of this as the most interesting delurking project you'll ever participate in. After giving back to others at the Celebratory Society, I have decided to participate in it myself. You can understand the project in full by clicking here, but in brief, the Celebratory Society is an online festschrift for a blogger--a way for you to tell me what my blog or actions mean to you. But this isn't about me--this is about you too. And I would love it if you returned to your own blog, started your own Celebratory Society post, added it to the main project list, and gave me the opportunity to tell you about...you.

Dora, I feel so privileged to have been allowed to follow you on your journey. The way you pursued your heart's desire and the extended family you formed with the wonderful lady who donated her embryos to you are simply inspirational. Your daughter is amazing and I can't wait to meet both of you in August.

Dora, I am so happy that I met you here in bloggy world. You have such a kind and big heart! I am happy that you were able to have your dream of being a mom come true. Your little one is so cute and I love reading about what is going on with you! Like Kristin said you are an inspiration!

This is the most loving gang on the web. And I think you have one of the most interesting stories about how you built your family from within this section of the web. And I am grateful you've recorded your story and allowed all of us to read it.

Hi Dora,

I am a little late in doing this, so pardon me.

I think I 'met' you through Mel's blog...that time your blogging abode was different.

The fact that you were able to realize your mommy dream from inside this community is such a huge thing for me.

More than that, I always have appreciated the good sense and balanced thoughts that you left me in the comments on my blog.

Stay good.

Dora,
You are such a generous, loving person. I am so happy that your journey turned out the way that it did, and it is such a pleasure to watch you raise Sunshine.

You also have a fantastic artistic eye!
